Sheep from Another Pasture
Following a recent Youth event a
neighboring pastor commented about the
diversity of our Youth group (an out
flow of our church’s diversity). As I
looked around we were a great mix of
Caucasian, Hispanic, Filipino,
African-American and Native American. I
was blest by what I saw. I then thought
about the further mix of our
congregation, mix of culture and race as
the Youth, but also made up of singles
and couples, Senior
citizen types (I’m getting closer to that one) and
young, college and career folks. We have families
that are just beginning that are giving us a very
full Nursery, as well as other’s who children are
grown and are giving them grandchildren. I love the
diversity.
But it also got me to thinking about many others who
simply want a homogenous group of same thinkers that
doesn’t force them to stretch. It got me to thinking
about a recent trip to Israel and the prejudice that
I saw there in the lives of Believers. Check out the
Blog and send me your thoughts.
