Hey CCCG Family,

The Pastors and Elders aren't the only ones who can encourage and minister to the body of Christ at such a time as this. You can, too! You can hear from God and can receive the illumination of the Holy Spirit as you read and study His Word and then take the opportunity to pass it on to the whole fellowship here at Calvary Casa Grande.

Here is how this can work --- use the Church email address or Message the Church Facebook page and send us your inspirational thoughts and encouragements.

  • You can tell us what you're doing with your kids that keeps you all from going stir-crazy.
  • Let us know what passage or verse of Scripture has been blessing you.
  • You can even share recipes and what you're binge-watching (we might censor this a bit. lol).
  • You can let us know of any opportunities you've had to be a blessing to someone else (this isn't tooting your own horn, it's giving ideas to others of how to make best use of the situation).
  • Share with us how you're praying during this time.

We might need to limit the number of entries for some of you (SMILE), but I believe this will be a delicious potpourri of the body ministering to the body! Send these things in and they will be posted on our Facebook page and here on the church website. I think it will be very meaningful and a lot of fun, too. And yes, unless you tell us otherwise, we'll put your name at the end of your contribution.

-Pastor David Landry

I am so thankful, blessed, and encouraged by our online (livestream) services each week. And what a special blessing to have had communion today. I love and appreciate our pastors and this sweet church family, even from a distance. Be well friends, and let's continue to praise Jesus with our words, through our actions (love), and even in our posts.

"I wanted to share what I’ve been doing today, only to encourage anyone who has been thinking about making a prayers closet... Or who may need encouraging some where....

What I’m doing is a prayer hallway....
I’m excited to see what God has in store and the many many testimonies of healing and returns to Jesus and salvations that will come out of this time during the Covid 19.... I am wanting ALL God has for me during this time, to grow more in Him, to learn to be still before Him as He desires of us all...
I’ve had some depression off and on this last week, but I know where to turn, and that Gods Word and Worship is where He wants us and to stay focused on who He is, NOT what I feel...
When I direct that depression to Worship, He delivers me from that pit like He promises, because His Word is truth, it’s healing, it’s encouraging and so much more.... God is so good and He is so Faithful...
I ran across this scripture below this morning....

Isaiah 57:15
For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, Whose name is Holy:
I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit,
To revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

Isn’t God so amazing, hoping that this is encouraging to someone that may be struggling some where... God is Faithful, I’ve seen it more then ever in my life this last year, actually my whole life as He began to open my eyes more.... He just keeps proving Himself to me over and over and I am beyond thankful that when I can’t do it, He can....

I’m not finished with this hallway, prayers will be written and tacked up there... Praying for my Church family etc...." - Connie Buckner (See photos below)

"Hard to imagine that a little over a year ago, it was hard for me to be out around people. I would shy away from most group activities, and just be generally uncomfortable.

Now I miss more people than I have ever missed before.
Huh. God is amazing." - Andrew Gosh

"I thank you Lord for the opportunity to have more time to sit down and read and study Your Word. Along with reading the Bible, I can go through my library. Here’s the current read which happens to be appropriate for this season. - Anne Marie"

"Good morning church family-

Monica and I wanted to give an update on her grandson, Thomas, who some of you have been praying about. Thomas is Monica’s twenty-something grandson, who lives in Southern California, and who suffers from schizophrenia. When taking his meds he can live a mostly normal and productive life. A few months back he lost his job and, because of a very tumultuous relationship with his parents (mostly because of Thomas), he didn’t have anywhere to go. For the past few weeks Thomas was been living on the streets. With the Corona Virus outbreak there are minimal places for him to go, even to go to the bathroom. His mom, Monica’s ex Daughter In-Law, and us have been his primary means of financial support. That and prayer by some of you. We thank you so much! Well, God has answered our prayer in that Thomas’ mom held a go fund me fundraiser, and, between that and our paying for a week’s hotel, Thomas is off the streets. As you can imagine, Monica, who has been Thomas’ only real connection with God, and has prayed and has communicated over and again for Thomas to seek a relationship with the Lord. We hope this temporary shelter will lead to getting himself cleaned up and getting a job. We trust our Lord to protect Thomas, but mostly to get him to a place where he will commit himself fully to the Lord. We cover and thank you for your continued prayers. -Doug and Monica Keller"

Some of his teeth are broken, they won’t know if he’ll be able to see until after he heals. "Hello everyone! God answered prayer for a senior widow friend of ours. Her husband died 6 years ago and she has continued to live and work for the Orlando Disney RV Park. Two days ago they informed her that the RV Park was closing and it could be as short as 2 weeks but could be longer. She lives in her motorhome that she doesn't drive, her husband always did. So of course this presents an extra stress. So, out of a job and possibly a park to live in she asked us to pray about this situation for her. We did and the Lord answered our prayers!

We just received a call from from Denise. A CEO of the Disney properties came to talk with her to tell her that if she stayed her rent would not be the same as when she is working there. (actually double) She's a feisty, 67 year old lady and has not shown that part of her to them, ever. So, she said to him... then I am leaving and will not be coming back to work here, I can not afford to stay here. She said I am willing to do whatever work you have for me to do. Then she said I am a widow and depend on the supplemental income I get from working here. So, thank you but I'm out of here. He could see she already had some things pack up.

After a little more talking he said... OK, you have a job... Would you will be willing to work night shift at the entrance to the RV Park to turn people away? However, it will be 2 weeks before payday. She said, YES, I will do that. He said will you be OK? She said, I think I will be OK. He said, here are a couple of gift cards ($50.00 ea) and you can buy whatever you will need at the camp store tell them I said, half price. As a joke,... she said, that's it? He then gave her another gift card. Then as she was about to leave to go over to the camp store to get something for dinner (they carry lots of food items) he said, Denise wait, and handed her a 4th card. She's so excited!! When we prayed this morning for her, we asked the Lord to do more than we could think or ask... and He did!!

Praise God, for ALL Blessings In The Midst!! - Bob & Joann Schaefer"

"The interview today with our mayor today on a Grace 91.1 was very helpful, as was his update. I passed info on to my family and friends about ways to keep up w their kids' education and managing work/home/school during this upside-down-downtime. Very helpful advice. Thanks to grace 91.1 and the mayor.

And when I suggested to my grandkids that I could go online (with help!! Cuz Un-techy-R-Me!) to read them a story that they could access and listen to, I was met with a resounding "YAY!!!" (So I think I'll start with the "Jesus Storybook Bible" which we read at our sleepovers!)

And finally, this afternoon the grandkids and I had a Fun 40-min FaceTime. We played darts (the three year old threw for me) n sang songs n talked to their dog n heard about their 4-mile bike ride w Dad, and about the class teleconference w their school friends, and saw the pictures they'd drawn, and they dunked me (the phone that we were FaceTiming on) in their basketball hoop (amid lotsa giggles!) and we explored both of our houses to see their sleepover room here at Gram's and to see that they'd made their beds at their home. Made my day!!!

Thanks So much for this "Blessings in the Midst!" Great idea! Thank you to any and all who came up w this idea and are driving the
Blessings Bus 🚎!

"I thank you so much for the ongoing emails of encouragement. I miss the fellowship of our church terribly but am staying close to our Savior by spending extra time in the Bible and prayer. I know this is challenging for all of us and would like to share what we are doing with our eleven year old grandson. Many of you already know he is autistic and we feel it is important to continue his education as much as possible. Here is a list of the ways we are doing this and we pray that some of these ideas will benefit others.

1) A quality set of multiplication flash cards.
2) An age appropriate book on American history. We have found that he reads with little comprehension so each day he must write the answers to the five basics of knowledge. Who, where, what, when and why.
3) A challenging puzzle on USA geography which includes all 50 states plus the Great Lakes plus the state capitals and some of the state symbols, i.e., California is a bear. Each piece is shaped like its state so that the puzzle will only go together one way.
4) He loves Legos and is very good at putting them together so we purchased three new sets one of which has over 500 pieces. This challenges not only his problem solving abilities but his dexterity as well.
5) As an Amazon Prime member I have access to hundreds of movies (most of which are not fit to watch) and have found several animated Bible stories. He and I watch these together, answer questions and have discussions about what we have seen. We pray together before each video that God will teach us (yeah, me too) what he wants us to know for that time.
6) Most importunately he has his own age appropriate Bible (NIV) and reads from it almost every day.

It is my prayer that these things will help others with children out of school especially the younger ones. He is given some game time everyday but this is limited and depends on how well he does with each day's lessons.

Feel free to edit and post these suggestions. If any one wants to contact me about any of this my phone number is 520-518-5368 or at my email address below.

Yours in Christ, Terry Wheeler"

"Monica and I wanted to send out a 'thank you' to those in our church who have been keeping us in prayer. We have been sick for nearly two weeks and everyday someone from the church has checked in with us to see how we are feeling and to make sure we have what we need to get through our illness, especially given the challenging times we live in.

Though we are not able to visit with others, God has blessed us with an unsaved elderly couple who live right next door. We talk to them daily either by phone or over the short wall in our back yards. They know we love the Lord and we are able to shine the light of Christ by checking in on them daily and getting them items from the grocery store, as their kids have warned them sternly to not go out into the community. (We only go to pick up service ourselves). Their kids feel blessed that we have taken this couple under our wings and look out for them, since they are too distant to do so themselves.    Actually, they have been a blessing to us as well.

Please do not think we are boasting about our service to the Lord. We are simply sharing with you that God is still at work in the lives of our church, regardless of the enemy’s attacks on a lost world. I’m sure God is using others to do His bidding as well.

Blessings to you all,

Doug and Monica Keller"
