who we are
H. David Landry
Pastor David Landry came to know the forgiveness and love of Jesus Christ during his senior year at Maryvale High School in Phoenix, Arizona. He felt the Lord's call on his life shortly after his conversion and began attending Grand Canyon University. It was there that he met Tot Marshall, who became his wife in April, 1972. They have two adult children, Eric (who lives in Southern California with his wife Sarah and their children) and Judy (who lives in Tennessee with her husband Mohammed and their children).
Pastor David was ordained to the ministry in 1978 while serving as Worship and Youth Leader at Greenway Baptist Church in Phoenix, AZ. After serving for many years in lay ministries, part-time staff positions and as full-time assistant positions in both denominational and non-denominational churches, David and his family became involved with Calvary Chapel of Sierra Vista (http://www.calvarysv.org/) , Arizona in 1988.
What began as very involved lay members of that fellowship was soon changed as David was asked to become an Assistant Pastor. After serving in that position for about three years, David and Tot felt the Lord's direction to begin a verse-by-verse Bible study in the Casa Grande area. In June of 1991, the Landry family moved to Casa Grande to begin Calvary Chapel of Casa Grande.
On July 28, 1979 Robert married his high school sweetheart Bertha Valenzuela. In May of the following year they were blessed with the birth of the first of their two children, Sarah, and in April 1987 they were blessed again with the birth of their second child, Joshua.
Robert, Bertha, and Sarah moved to El Paso, Texas in 1982. Robert became involved with Calvary Chapel El Paso as a worship team member (and later worship leader), Sunday school teacher, and leadership team shortly after moving to the area. Robert also began working in the prison ministry at that time. After several years of continued travel with his job, Robert was given the opportunity to move to a position that would allow him to stay home...in Casa Grande. So, Robert, Bertha, Sarah, and Joshua moved to Arizona in 1989.
Robert, his wife Bertha, and their two children were part of the original group of families at the outset of this ministry. Robert has ministered in many different areas throughout the years here at Calvary Chapel of Casa Grande. From youth leader and worship leader, to Elder, to his current position as Assistant Pastor.
In addition to serving as Assistant Pastor, Robert also serves as a volunteer chaplain at multiple prisons and works with Christian Islamic Dialogue.
Leo came to an understanding of God's love and forgiveness at an early age, but it was in his freshman year in college that he had a deep burden to surrender his life and a call to serve Christ. As a state-side missionary in San Diego, he met Tiffany Wright. They were married May 21, 1994. Leo and Tiffany have 3 sons; Joshua, Jonathan and Josef.
Leo was ordained to the ministry at First Baptist church in Vacaville, CA. He has served as an associate pastor and co-pastor. He has taught school and was a chaplain to the students and faculty. Since 2007, he enjoys teaching the youth, the sick and shut in, and adults here at Calvary. He also serves as a church elder. In addition, Leo teaches in a local public school.
Eric Kluth came to know the forgiveness and love of Jesus Christ at the age of eight years old. He was born and raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and moved to Arizona in 1999. In 2002, Eric married Nichole. They have four children, Landon, Eli, Abi, and Sam.
Eric and Nichole were part of the planting of Calvary Chapel Coolidge in 2007. He was ordained in 2012 and served as the assistant pastor. In 2013, Eric assumed the role of Senior Pastor at Calvary Chapel Coolidge where he served until the summer of 2018. Eric’s primary focus will be youth ministry.
